Nuggets resume road trip in Philly vs. Sixers

Basketball Betting Lines

02/18/2009 - (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - The Northwest Division-leading Denver Nuggets will continue their rough stretch of road games tonight, when they pay a visit to the Philadelphia 76ers at the Wachovia Center.

The Nuggets were in the midst of their road swing when they broke for All-Star weekend and are 4-1 so far on the trek. Before the midseason break, Denver recorded its second straight win with an 82-73 triumph at Orlando last Wednesday, as Carmelo Anthony tallied 29 points and eight rebounds to lead the way. The Nuggets halted a 15-game losing streak in Orlando.

Kenyon Martin provided 13 points, while Chauncey Billups had 11 for the Nuggets, who are 16-11 away from the Rocky Mountains this season. Billups. the only Denver All-Star, has been a major factor since coming over from Detroit earlier in the season. He is averaging 18.0 points and 6.2 assists.

Denver will also visit Chicago and Milwaukee on the trek. Nuggets forward Chris Andersen (wrist/hip) is questionable for Wednesday's game.

Meanwhile, the Sixers had their four-game winning streak halted with last night's 100-91 loss at Indiana. Andre Iguodala finished with 20 points and nine assists, while Thaddeus Young chipped in 16 points and nine rebounds for the 76ers, who entered the game with an NBA-best 14-4 record since January 6.

Lou Williams added 17 points off the bench in defeat. Philadelphia made just 38.5 percent from the floor and shot a woeful 2-for-15 from three-point range against the Pacers. The Sixers, who recently went 5-2 on a seven-game homestand before visiting Indiana, have won four straight in Philly and are 17-11 as the host this season.

Sixers rookie center/forward Marreese Speights left Tuesday's game with an ankle injury and is questionable versus the Nuggets.

Denver defeated Philadelphia, 105-101, on December 26 this season at the Pepsi Center and has won four of the last six meetings. Denver, though, has lost five of eight and six of its last 10 trips to the Wachovia Center.

The NBA trade deadline is scheduled for 3:00 p.m. (et) Thursday.
